Building a Heatbed for K8800

#41

So here is my soldering of the main board:

here I also added some heat sinks to the stepper drivers and atmega:

after firmware changes I’m still waiting for my Mk3 heat bed:

here are my changes to the firmware (< mine >original)

pins_K8800.h
< #define TEMP_BED_PIN 8
< #define HEATER_BED_PIN 36

Configuration.h
< #define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 13//cheap 3950
> #define TEMP_SENSOR_BED 0
< #define PIDTEMPBED
> //#define PIDTEMPBED
< #define DELTA_HEIGHT 311.000 // I will reduce this when the heat bet is installed...
> #define DELTA_HEIGHT 308.000 // get this value from auto calibrate

and I will try this:

Configuration_adv.h
< #define BABYSTEPPING
> //#define BABYSTEPPING
< //#define BABYSTEP_XY // Also enable X/Y Babystepping. Not supported on DELTA!
> #define BABYSTEP_XY // Also enable X/Y Babystepping. Not supported on DELTA!
< //#define DOUBLECLICK_MAX_INTERVAL 1250 // Maximum interval between clicks, in milliseconds.
> #define DOUBLECLICK_MAX_INTERVAL 1250 // Maximum interval between clicks, in milliseconds.
< #define PINS_DEBUGGING
> //#define PINS_DEBUGGING

#42

@SusisStrolch Yes HPL sounds interesting. Have you tried it already?

#43

I ordered a 4mm plate - should arive next week

#44

Happy New Year!
@shelxle, what‘s the purpose of the patchwire visible in the first picture?

#45

Happy New Year, too!
You mean the blue, brown, green and violet wires? They go to to a small circuit

+5V / PK0 / PC1/ GND.
Or do you mean the white silicon cables which are just waiting to be soldered on the MK3 which still haven’t arrived yet?

#46

That short diagonal piece of wire above C6 in picture solder2…

#47

Oops! That has absolutely no purpose. It is just lying there shame on me.

#48

@shelxle, you wrote you set those pins in pins_K8800.h:

But the current pins_K8800.h contains already a definition for pin 8:
#define FAN_PIN 8 //FILAMENT FAN

#49

Yes this is the crazy numbering in Arduino.
I did a M43 to figure out that ADC0 is pin 62 but then I realized as previously @SurviKnows

So TEMP_BED_PIN 8 is a different pin than FAN_PIN 8.
My bed sensor and all the fans work fine.

EDIT: for M43

#define PINS_DEBUGGING

needs to be enabled.
